Why KING Pre-Workout Skips the Pump Ingredients (On Purpose)

The most common question we get about Intellekt™ KING is some version of this: "Where's the citrulline?"

It's a fair question. Almost every pre-workout on the shelf pairs its stimulants with a pump stack. KING doesn't, and that's not an oversight or a cost cut. It's the whole point of the formula. Here's why.

What KING Is Built For

KING is the hardest-hitting product in the Intellekt™ lineup. It's built for one type of lifter: someone with a real stimulant tolerance whose usual pre-workout has stopped doing anything.

If that's not you yet, KING isn't your starting point. HYPER V2 is the daily driver, and it's where most lifters should live. KING is for the sessions, and the people, that need more.

What's in a Full Scoop

Every ingredient in KING is there to drive energy, focus, and output. Nothing is there to bulk up the scoop.

The Caffeine Complex: 450mg

Three caffeine sources (caffeine anhydrous, caffeine citrate, and di-caffeine malate) that hit at different speeds, so the energy builds fast and holds through the back half of your session instead of falling off a cliff.

Drive and Mood

✅ Eria Jarensis (400mg) and Halostachine (80mg) for the "locked in and ready to go" feeling hardcore stim users chase
✅ Synephrine (60mg), the main active compound in bitter orange, for added energy
✅ Yohimbine HCl (4mg) and Rauwolscine (3mg) for sharp alertness and intensity

Focus and Smoothing

✅ L-Tyrosine (1.5g) for focus under demanding training
✅ L-Theanine (150mg) to take the rough edges off the stimulant curve
✅ Theobromine (150mg), a longer-acting cousin of caffeine, to extend the ride

Endurance

✅ Beta-Alanine (3.2g) to buffer fatigue in high-rep, high-intensity sets. The tingle is harmless and temporary.

Why KING Has No Pump Ingredients

1. One Job, Done All the Way

Every Intellekt™ product has one job. HYPER V2 is the daily driver. HYDR8 is hydration. KING's job is intensity. A pump stack would take up scoop space without adding anything to that job.

2. Stims and Pump Ingredients Pull in Opposite Directions

Stimulants like caffeine, synephrine, and yohimbine tend to tighten blood vessels. Pump ingredients like citrulline exist to open them up. Our formulation call was simple: rather than build a formula that pulls in both directions at once, let the stimulant side run without anything competing with it. That's a big part of why KING feels the way it does.

3. You Stay in Control

Want a pump on top of KING's intensity? Add one on your own terms. Pairing KING with a dedicated stim-free pump formula like Intellekt™ PUMPD lets you dial each side separately, instead of being locked into whatever pump dose a combined formula decided for you. Just never stack KING with another stimulant product.

Who Should Use KING

KING is the right call if you:

✅ Already have a solid caffeine tolerance
✅ Have been using high-stim pre-workouts for a while and they've stopped hitting
✅ Train hard and want maximum energy, focus, and drive
✅ Know how your body responds to stimulants

Who Should Skip It

KING is not for you if you:

✅ Are new to pre-workout or sensitive to caffeine
✅ Are under 18, pregnant, or nursing
✅ Have a heart condition, high blood pressure, anxiety, or any medical condition, or take prescription medication, unless your doctor has cleared you
✅ Get tested for sport (some of these stimulants are restricted by sporting bodies)
✅ Train within six hours of bedtime

If you're on the fence, start with HYPER V2. One scoop is 175mg of caffeine, two scoops is 350mg, and you can work your way up from there.

How to Use KING

✅ Start with a partial scoop. Even experienced users should assess tolerance before going to a full scoop.
✅ Take it 20 to 30 minutes before training in 8 to 12 oz of cold water.
✅ Skip all other caffeine that day. No coffee, energy drinks, or other pre-workouts on top of it. Do not combine it with HYPER V2.
✅ Watch the clock. Caffeine has a five to six hour half-life. Read the Late-Night Lifter Protocol if you train in the evening.
✅ Don't live on it. Save KING for the sessions that need it, and take regular breaks. If it ever starts feeling flat, read the Tolerance Reset Protocol before reaching for more.

KING vs HYPER V2

HYPER V2 is the daily driver: 175mg of caffeine per scoop, 350mg at two scoops, with 8g of citrulline, 4g of beta-alanine, and full focus doses at the two-scoop serving. Four candy-shop flavors. Built to use every training day.

KING is the hardcore option: a 450mg caffeine complex plus a full adrenergic stack, no pump ingredients, built for experienced users only. Available in Cherry Limeade and Cotton Candy.

Same brand. Different jobs. Pick the one that matches where your tolerance actually is, not where your ego wants it to be.

The Bottom Line

KING skips the pump on purpose. It's a pure intensity formula for lifters who've outgrown everything else, and it's built to do that one job all the way. Respect the dose, keep everything else stimulant-free that day, and it will show you exactly why it's called KING.
